Your gauge of natural disasters doesn't even begin to account for the unprecedented level of human corruption and apathy that has pushed the system to the brink. And yet we're supposed to believe that the very same men and women who fed this machine will "wake up" and fix it? The Bible says that man has been in an ever-increasing state of depravity since the creation of the universe, and that because of that depravity the world will ultimately give over power and control to one man and one system that threatens to permanently separate man from his God forever. You may believe that's simply a myth or fable, but the Creator entered into history as a man - Jesus Christ - to warn us of the fate awaits those who do not repent (change their mind) about how they live their life. God became a man and died as the sacrifice to atone for every sin you and I would ever commit. In the end the only decision that you will ever make that matters is what you did with the person of Jesus Christ. Because as you have well documented, the end of this age is nearly upon us.
