If every News agency is allowed to fly over and around the OIL leak this could lead to an accident that can start a fire of oil vapor and surface oil, thereby, disrupting the oil drilling process, ship movements, and kill people, and burn the ships full of oil & vapors.

The closing of the airspace around the spill kind of makes sense. I am a pilot and I’d love to be over this spill with a camera and show the world just how much of a mess this really is. However, can you imagine how many people would be out there daily? The aircraft traffic there would cause a massive issue. A mid-air collision or a crash into the ocean would just add another level of problems to an already more than vexing issue.
Also question #8 says that the levels of methane in the water are up to 10,000 times of normal levels. Methane doesn’t stay in the water, it rises out into the atmosphere and can interfere with the functions of aircraft engines, and by interfere I mean, shut them down in mid-flight.

Shutting down the airspace around the oil spill makes no sense to me. There is no danger to anything in the air unless an oiled bird hits an aircraft. Unlikely.
